Magento Commerce Review

Recommendation: Magento Commerce is a powerful shopping cart, but it comes at a steep price. First, if you are going to process credit cards in your store, you will need the Professional or Enterprise edition to obtain PA-DSS compliance. In addition, the smallest VPS server I would use for Magento is 2GB, which runs $265 per month. Also, customizing Magento is more expensive than any other system. You must keep these extra expenses in mind if you plan to expand your store and upgrade to Professional or Enterprise in the future. We currently host clients who are running the free Magento Community edition on a 2GB server combined with a gateway-served payment page, such as Authorize.net SIM, to avoid PA-DSS complications. It works well for them so far but there is always a risk of a major software failure and there is no developers support included with a Community edition.

Project Description

THE BRIEF:

Wedding Favor Station recruited us 3 years ago when they were planning the development of their wedding accessories ecommerce store for off-beat brides. They were looking for a unique design with a traditional flair that could run on a secure platform and be PCI DSS compliant. The company was also looking for a web design firm who could also market their unique products through search engine optimization.

WHAT WE DID:

We rolled up our sleeves and got to work. We created the logo, site design, entire brand identity and even took care of the product loading. We then continued with on-page optimization and search engine marketing.

THE RESULT:

We increased traffic and conversion by 1000% and got the company ranked for some very competitive commercial terms.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

We are currently working on creating a new social media and search optimization campaign to further promote Wedding Favor Station and increase the company's reach.
